A Tree-Trimming DIY

Create picks for easy-to-use decorating embellishments on your tree, wreath and swags on stair rails or mantle. We’ve found that wrapping it around the tree means some of it gets hidden in the back. So we’d like to show you how using picks of stars lets you fill in open spaces or add the sparkle of the stars where you want them. We hope that this little DIY will help you be able to use the Star Garland in more ways on your Christmas Tree and around your home.

Supplies: Wire Cutters and Star Garland

Step 1: Get your wire cutters and start to unravel your star garland.

Step 2: Identify the places on the garland where you want to cut. I usually cut
it so that each pick ends up having 3 stars on it.

Step 3: Grab your wire cutters and start snipping away.

Step 4: Just keep cutting…

Step 5: Voila! You should have between 8-10 picks for your tree decorating pleasure!

So grab some sets of Star Garland here and get to it!

TIP: Put down some paper or a tablecloth because some of the glitter will come off and that will make for easier clean up!

  1. Hello Barbara 🤗
    Thank you for the post…
I made a dozen of gold stars and another dozen of sparkling stars 😊
    Have a wonderful weekend!

    Blessings always!

  2. I bought some of these star garlands for our 12’ church tree. Also purchased many ornaments that have such meaning.
The books that came with the ornaments are displayed on a coffee table nearby. It was all used as an activity for our Advent service.
Thank you for helping us to create a more meaningful space to worship Jesus!
