There are many mysteries mentioned in the Bible and this is one of them: that God would grant to we who are not Jews the privilege of being grafted into the family of God.
This door, the door of faith, is one for which I am eternally grateful. It makes me think of the image in The Last Battle, by C.S. Lewis, when the children saw “a rough wooden door and, round it, the framework of the doorway: nothing else, no walls, no roof.” In this wonderful story this rough wooden door, like one we might find in a barn or stable, was the entrance into heaven.
By believing in Jesus for salvation, by faith, we can one day walk through that open door in heaven. I am so very grateful and will be forever that I know that door is open for me!
Do you know that for yourself too? I hope so. Let me know if you don’t and we can chat about it.
